How many cups are in a pound of aroma beads?

There are approximately 3 cups in a pound, however, it is highly suggested that you purchase a small digital scale to measure your beads.

  • ALWAYS remember to "tare" out your scale before measuring.  That means, to put the container on the scale before turning it on or clicking the "TARE" button on your scale

  • Use a scale with regular batteries, AAA or AA.  Do not use the ones with watch batteries, because when you need it the most, you won't have them readily available.

What are aroma beads?

Aroma Beads are small, plastic beads that absorb color and fragrance oil.  They are used for many things; cars, drawers, shoes, lockers, cabinets, etc.  They are a unique mixture made with uncut fragrance oils or essential oils.  Added essential oils may be used for those with allergies or those who want a more natural remedy.  They have added medicinal benefits.  They are not to be used for your body, but as a home decor item or an aroma therapy product.  The unique mixture of items absorb the scent and leave the beads with a wonderful aroma.  They are stronger than conventional potpourri.  For best results, use in a concentrated area.

How long does the fragrance last?  Well that actually depends on the fragrance itself and if they are in bead or ornament form and who made them.  Not all manufacturers are alike.  I have seen them not made correctly and last only 2 weeks and then I have seen them last for a year, with a stronger fragrance.

Beads can last from 1 month to over a year depending on fragrance, environment, where they are and many other things, but on average, from 3-6 months.  Yes, the aroma beads CAN be refreshed. Just take your beads and put them into a glass jar with some fragrance oil and shake them up!  Toss on and off for a day until dry.  Re-bag them and you are READY TO GO!  This will not work forever, just once or twice, however, when the smell starts to dissipate, place the beads into a drawer. The scent gives a pleasant aroma to your clothes!

NOTE:  You will get used to the fragrance and not smell it anymore but others will. Remember the old age cat question? Does my litter box smell?  People that are around it cannot smell it but you sure can when you walk in!
